A practical mini-manual for VET schools: choose a format, adapt the materials, schedule delivery, and build mental-health prevention into everyday school life.
The F3 Trainings Toolbox gives you ready-made session plans from partner countries, organised by prevention theme (Groups A-D) and by format: Short (one-off intro), 1 and 1/2 Day (deeper half-day or day-and-a-half event), and Monthly (five monthly sessions). Open each training in your browser, print to PDF if needed, and deliver with your existing school structures.
Three formats at a glance
Each format has a different time footprint. Pick what fits your school calendar and the depth you need.
Short training
One session · ~2 hours
A one-time introduction to a topic, ideal for an assembly slot, tutor hour, or a single workshop block.
Raises awareness and opens conversation
Low scheduling barrier; fits in one morning or afternoon
Good first step before Medium or Long formats
1 and 1/2 Day event
1½ days · 8 h + 4 h
A focused event with more exercises, reflection, and group work: one full day (8 h) plus a half day the next morning (4 h).
Builds skills, not just awareness
Suits staff development days or student immersion weeks
Can combine several short activities from the pack
Monthly event series
5 monthly sessions · 2 h each
A monthly programme that revisits themes over time; habits stick better when students and staff return to the topic regularly.
Five sessions, typically one per month
Each session ~2 hours; topics build on each other
Best for sustained prevention across a school year

Use these patterns when planning with your coordination team. Bars show when delivery happens, not preparation time.

Medium: 1½ day event (8 h + 4 h, example: Thu full day + Fri morning)
A simple workflow any school can follow, from first download to delivery and review.
1. Choose theme & format
Pick a Group (A–D) that matches your school priority. Start with a Short training if you are new; move to Medium or Long for deeper impact.
2. Open & read
From the catalog, click a training to open it in your browser. Read objectives and timing before adapting. Use Download PDF on the training page to save or print a copy.
3. Adapt locally
Translate if needed, swap examples for your VET context, and trim activities to fit your slot. Keep safeguarding and privacy rules from your school.
4. Schedule & announce
Book room, notify tutors, and share a one-paragraph “why we’re doing this” with students. For Long series, fix all five dates upfront.
5. Deliver & review
Run the session with the facilitator guide. Afterward, note what worked, collect anonymous feedback, and decide the next training from the catalog.
Who can deliver?
Most materials are designed for an adult facilitator. Students can co-lead parts with preparation, not as sole facilitators for sensitive topics.
VET teachers & tutors
Best for Short and Medium formats in class or year groups. Use the session plan as your lesson structure.
School psychologist / counsellor
Ideal lead for Medium and Long series, especially Groups A and D. Supports referrals if issues arise.
Pastoral / student-support staff
Can co-facilitate and follow up between Long sessions. Good link to tutor time and wellbeing boards.
Student peer leaders
Can help with icebreakers, posters, and peer conversations after adult-led sessions, with training and clear boundaries.
Safeguarding: These trainings are psychoeducation, not therapy. Agree in advance who students can talk to if something worries them, and never pressure anyone to disclose personal information in front of the group.
Where to create & adapt materials
You do not need special software. Start from the downloaded Word files, then build slides and handouts with tools you already use.
