About

Two years into cooperation, six partners are delivering research, digital tools, training resources, and communities of practice that make vocational education more inclusive for learners facing mental health challenges.

Aim

Objectives

F3 - Fitter Minds, Fitter VET, Fitter Jobs strengthens the inclusivity and accessibility of learning for people with mental health challenges in vocational education. Across Portugal, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, and Spain, schools and institutions are building policies, practices, and professional capacity so every learner can participate fully, whatever their background or circumstances.

Implementation

WP2 (research) is complete: a survey of more than 2,000 students and teachers across six countries underpins the published report and a whole-school approach to mental health in VET. WP3 is complete: the Institutional Self-Assessment and Early Warning System were piloted in every partner country and the EWS is now live online.

WP4 is largely delivered: the trainings toolbox, action-planning guidelines, and school action plans are in use across partners. WP5 is underway: the blended online course (modules on prevention and socio-emotional skills), project website, and Community of Practice extend reach to educators Europe-wide. Consortium meetings in Budapest, Bologna, Bremen, Nova Gorica, Lisbon, and at the EfVET Annual Conference keep implementation aligned.

Impact

Results

Deliverables are reaching classrooms and staff rooms: the EWS and ISA support early identification; the WP4 toolbox and action-planning resources help schools prevent and manage mental health challenges; and the blended course offers structured learning for students and teachers. Open resources are designed for European VET providers, with materials in partner languages and a growing Community of Practice.

Together, these results reduce stigma, strengthen whole-school wellbeing, support retention, and give learners the skills and support they need to thrive in training and on the labour market.
